✦ Synopsis

Serial bone scannings with 99-M-Tc-MDP have been performed in 15 patients with an extraarticular dorsal-angulated fracture of the distal radius (Colles' fracture) A method for the quantification of healing activity is described The activity-ratios show a typical pattern of progress during the healing period. There is a correlation between fractures with high activity ratios late in the healing period and fractures that redisplace during the healing period.

Abstract The value of initial and serial isotope bone scans was assessed in 685 patients with operable primary breast cancer. Nineteen (2·8 per cent) patients had a positive initial scan and negative skeletal radiographs; only nine of these developed other evidence of metastatic disease after a mean

## Abstract A controversy has developed around the question as to whether bone density values from the distal radius can be used to accurately predict risk of future fractures. To address this question, two separate studies were undertaken: (a) Bone density was measured in 460 healthy ambulatory wo
