At least three-fourths of the dihedral groups D, are sequenceable: all but D3 and D4 (which are not sequenceable) and perhaps Dbk for k 3 13. Sequencings are related to especially effective shuffles of a deck of cards.

β¦ Synopsis
A finite group is sequenceable if its elements can be listed in such a way that the partial products are distinct. The sequenceability of several classes of groups has previously been investigated. In particular, it has been shown [5] that the dihedral groups D. = (or, z l~r" = z 2 = 1, za = tr-lz), are sequenceable for n ~ 0 mod 4. In this note we show that D4k are sequenceable for k ~>4.
