A fifteenth potential germline gene, V-BK, was described as a novel sequence amplified from an A-MuLV cell line (Atkinson and Wu 1992). Here we report the sequence of four new members of the V~I7183 gene family, bringing the number of VH7183 genes to 19.

We also extend the sequence information of some of these previously published members of the Df7183 family.

Over the past five years we (A. J. E and R. U. C.) have sequenced a large number of rearranged VDJ sequences, using Vu7183 genes. We routinely sequence the 3' half of each gene, and on that basis, we have identified potential new VH7183 genes.
