โฆ Synopsis
The separation method by using electromagnetic force is receiving particular attention as elimination method of impurities in molten metal. In this study, low-melting metal is used as model metal and the relation between electromagnetic force and motion of the particle in molten metal was discussed by calculation and experiment. As the result of calculation, the relation between electromagnetic force and separation efficiency can be obtained. The electromagnetic separation was experimented in the condition that was estimated from the results of calculation (average flow velocity: 0.4 m/s, magnetic flux density: 10 T, electric current density: 3.3E+4 A/m 2 ). It succeeded that insulating lead balls in low-melting metal were separated by electromagnetic force.
