The use of 2_(6-methyl-2-benzoth~azolylazo)-5-d~ethylam~nophenol as a chelating reagent m the reversed-phase hqmd chromatographlc separation and determmatlon of Pt, Rh, Pd, OS, Nl and Co IS reported A precolumn denvatlzatlon method followed by separation on an ODS column wdh methanol-n-butanol-water (70 + 5 + 25) contammg 5 mm01 1-l tetrabutylammomum bromide, 0 5 mm01 1-l ethyleneduunmedlacetlc acid dlethyl acetate and 20 mm01 1-l acetate buffer (pH 4 5) was used The detection hmlts for Pt, Rh, Pd, OS, Nl and Co are 1 5, 0 54, 0 6, 10, 0 1 and 0 1 ng ml-', respectively, with a slgnal-to-noise ratio of 3 The analyses of a reference sample of noble metals and anode shme are reported The results corresponded with the certified values, and 94 7-104% recovenes were obtained
