This work addresses three key subjects to the image quality with phased arrays: timing accuracy, beamforming strategy and postprocessing for increased resolution and suppression of grating and side lobes. Timing accuracy is achieved by defining a modular and scalable architecture which guarantees ti

News update Diffusion cooled laser
A 2 kW diffusion cooled CO:! slab laser, designated the DC020, has recently been launched by Roiin-Sinar Laser.
The laser is the result of a project which aimed at developing a new generation of high power CO2 lasers. Due to their fundamental design principles, these lasers were intended to have significant advantages over flowing gas lasers and, in addition, offer high beam quality.
According to Hinrich Martinen, Technical Director at Rolin-Sinar Laser, 'To open up the market for laser processing systems in the future, new ways have been found to make integration into existing production lines as simple as possible and to reduce operating costs considerably.'
The slab design produces a

## Abstract In block coding, the original image is divided into square blocks composed of __N Γ N__ pixels, and the coding is applied to each block. When the image is coded at a low bitβrate, however, there is often produced a block noise in the reconstructed image. When a block noise is produced i
## Abstract It is important to improve the quality of NMR images, since this significantly affects medical diagnosis. This paper describes an image processing to improve NMR images. It is important for such improvements to utilize the image property of interest. This paper shows that noises in an N
