Photocurrents in dibenz (a, h) anthracene crystals can be sensitized by adsorbed and excited methylene blue by an electron transfer process. Triplet-to-triplet energy transfer is not possible on energetic grounds.
Dye sensitized photocurrents in aromatic hydrocarbon crystals have been discussed in a series of preceding communications [l-3]. Generally there are two mechanisms by which sensitized photocurrents can be produced. The first takes
