✦ Synopsis

A solution of 1,2.4,5-tetraeyanobenzene (TCNB) in 2-methgltetrahydrofuran (MTHF), in which a solute-s.~,lvent electron donor-acceptor (EDA) complex is formed, has been photoirradiated bY 350--400 am light at 77 K so as ,o e~eiLe only benzophenone. The intensity dependence of the exciting UV light on the photoinduced radical-anion formatior~ of TCNB has been studied by means o¢ optical absorption, suggesting a sensitized biphotonic ionic dissociation of the l:].lA complex.

## Abstract __N__‐Alkyl‐__N__‐tosyl amino acid esters were ionized by fast atom bombardment (FAB) in a nitrobenzyl alcohol matrix through oxidative processes leading to molecular radical cations (M^+·^). The addition to the matrix of Cu^11^ salts induces the ionization through proton attachment whe

The enthalpies of formation for charge transfer complexes of the type [R&1.1,] (R = CH3, C2F5, n-C3H,, n-&H,) have been measured by calorimetry. The data are analysed using Mulliken's resonance structure theory, to produce the different energy contributions to the formation ofand the charge transfer
