## Abstract The mechanisms of action of extracellular mitogens for normal human bronchial epithelial cells (NHBE) were investigated by observing their effects on selected biochemical pathways when the cells were incubated in serum‐free media. We find that (a) epidermal growth factor (EGF) stimulate
