โœฆ Synopsis

Life stages of the cowpea seed beetle (Callosobruchus maculams F.) were y irradiated from a @'Co source. Arrested development was observed at dosages of 1 .O, 4.0, 10.0 and IO.OGy in the egg, Ist, 2nd, 3rd and 4th larvae stages respectively while 4.0 Gy induced sterility. Longevity of 2-day old adults was not affected by irradiation of 100 Gy. Preservation of cowpeas by irradiation is discussed.
