Tetraphenylboron and tetrdphenytarsonium ions have been determined spectrophotometritally by measuring the red shift i n the absorbance maximum of ethidium on its reaction with tetraphenylboron at neutral pH. The present method permits the determination of nanomole quantities of these ions.
