## Abstract Coplanar waveguide (CPW) transmission lines periodically coupled to split‐ring resonators (SRRs) are analyzed, designed, and characterized. Due to inductive coupling between the lines and SRRs, signal propagation is inhibited in the vicinity of the resonant frequency of the rings. The r
