A method is presented for the radioactive detection of /3-nuclide-labelled substances in thin-layer chromatography.

The method is based on a scanning device with a semiconductor detector; the detection proceeds in the laboratory atmosphere and at room temperature.

The measurement and recording may be programmed on a computer. Conditions are considered for 'H-and '"C-detection and also for the detection of simultaneously present 14C and 35S, after the chromatographic separation of nucleic acid components.
