β¦ Synopsis
Since Peterka "rst introduced the concept of self-tuning control the industrial application of self-tuning or adaptive control, has not been as widespread as might have been expected. Self-tuning concepts are relatively simple but procedures and techniques for routine plant application have not emerged quite so easily. As a contribution to enhance the industrial acceptance of self-tuning control, the concept of a Limited Authority Self-tuning Controller is described in the "rst part of the paper. The second part of the paper gives the details of an industrial application of this concept in electric power generation. Conclusions and future research directions close the paper.
