## Abstract The development of a modified __Phillips__ reaction allows the synthesis of complicated heteroleptic ligands based on pyridine and 1__H__‐benzimidazole moieties. The key‐step formation of aromatic 1__H__‐benzimidazole rings from __N__‐(2‐nitroaryl)arenecarboxamides significantly improve
