โœฆ Synopsis


Preparation of hexadecyl silica supported cupric nitrate is described. This oxidant, in carbon tetrachloride, oxidizes alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl compounds. It oxidizes primary alcohols in the presence of secondary alcohols with absolute chemoselectivity in high yields.
