Most members of the VSS believe non-surgeons to be already adequately accommodated within the present constitution and are reluctant to accept change that could fundamentally alter the character of the Society. Concern remains that, unless non-surgical specialists are offered membership of the Society on equal terms, their unreserved support is unlikely to be forthcoming.
