The sensitivity method is applied to update finite element models of welded joints and the boundary condition of a cantilever plate. Careful parameterisation is found to be critical in updating joints and boundary conditions, and the merits of geometric parameters are given special consideration. Th

β¦ Synopsis
A three-storey aluminium space frame is modelled using beam elements with unrepresentative rigid joints. Five model-updating experiments are carried out using di!erent sets of updating parameters. All of them are shown to produce improved predictions, even for modi"ed con"gurations of the frame. The set of parameters that on average produces the best results is also considered to provide a physical improvement to the modelling of the joints. 2000 Academic Press * G * H " 2 G

We study mapping properties of the Fourier Laplace transform between certain spaces of entire functions. We introduce a variant of the classical Fock space by integrating against the Monge AmpeΓ re measure of the weight function and show that the norm of the Fourier Laplace transform, in a dual Fock
