✦ Synopsis

Abstract

In the culture broth of the fungus Clitocybe diatreta a novel diketopiperazine metabolite, diatretol (1), was detected by chemical screening. The structure was established on the basis of ^1^H‐ and ^13^C‐NMR data and single‐crystal X‐ray analysis. Diatretol exhibits a low antibacterial activity and inhibits the growth germination of Lepidium sativum.
