✦ Synopsis


The entrance channel effect was studied for the decay of lrΒ°W formed in fusion reactions with different beam-target combinations. The average number of emitted neutrons suggest a lower effective excitation energy in the (c~,xn) decay channel when more mass-symmetric reaction is used, especially at the highest angular momenta. The results are in qualitative agreement with predictions of the dissipative fusion model.
