Rohm and Haas affirmed that it is on track to achieve its target of US$300 million lower operating rate, overall sales growth of 4-5% and accelerating profitability expressed as EBITDA -(earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). EBITDA was 22.7% in 1999. Integration of several acquisitions made during the past year have further strengthened the company's technologies and reach into world markets.
ST introduces laser treatment
Israeli company Surface Technologies has announced a laser surface treatment (LST) that will dramatically increase the loading capability of mechanical seals. By reducing friction, face temperature, and wear, the technique boosts their efficiency and life expectancy, the company said.
