✦ Synopsis

A heat-resistant textile gasket and method of making it are described. The gasket has a knit, tubular body, constructed, at least in part, from non-metallic, heat-resistant yarns. It also may include metallic yarn. A jersey knit pattern for the yarn is described in order to provide optimum density. The tubular yarn structure is then rolled to form the seal geometry required to fit the seal groove in the mating components.
