โœฆ Synopsis

An oil seal is described that has a pair of concentric seal lips contained in a rotating housing and a stationary flange between them. The inner lip does not contact the stationary flange when the shaft is stationary but moves to close the gap, presumably due to centrifugal force. A wide selection of geometries is illustrated.
