โœฆ Synopsis

Dynamic sealing

Simwhlte is just as media-reslstant as Simriz. Both materials are resistant to strong inorganic and organic acids and bases, to chlorinated and highly polar organic solvents and to aromatic substances like benzene and xylene.

These properties mean they exhibit a similar media resistance to PTFE, but have rubber-elastlc properties also and so are well suited to be used as seal materials. Both materials can be used at temperatures from -12 to +230 ยฐC.

This invention relates to a highpressure seal that is designed for use as a radial seal. It comprises an antiextrusion ring (3) and a sealing ring (5). It is claimed to produce a reliable seal between the two housing components (18, 19), even at pressures of 1600 bar.
