โฆ Synopsis
This invention specifies a screwed socket, or stud coupling type connection for high pressure circuits. It provides two methods designed to prevent trapping or misalignment of the sealing washer as the connection is assembled. One method is to provide a taper from the thread undercut up to the washer seating diameter to centralize the washer as the fitting is tightened. The second method uses a washer with a reduced diameter so that it centralizes on the thread, in a similar manner to that employed by some bonded washer designs.
