✦ Synopsis

The use of rectangular and triangular basis functions in the method of moments to analyze the problem of scattering of electromag-( ) netic wa¨es by dielectric objects with high dielectric constant ) 10 r leads to con¨ergence problems due to the spurious charges associated with the basis functions. To o¨ercome this problem, solenoidal basis functions that eliminate the spurius charges generated by rectangular and triangular basis functions ha¨e been proposed. In this article we present results for the analysis of the scattering of TM wa¨es by a chiral circular cylinder with the use of the method of moments and solenoidal basis functions.

## Abstract Resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) spectra resulting from interaction between chondroitin sulfate A (CSA) and crystal violet (CV) have been investigated and applied to the determination of CSA. Though the intensity of RRS has proved very weak for CSA and CV, respectively, it can be gre
