β¦ Synopsis
A scattering model for the explanation of Josephson behavior in some weak link devices is proposed. Significant effects of the current-induced breakdown of superconductivity in bridges of a type I superconductor can be satisfactorily explained, In one example of a diffraction pattern of the dc Josephson current, it is shown that this model can be easily generalized to other Josephson devices and that it is a useful tool in understanding effects connected with them.
