✦ Synopsis

A scattering model for the explanation of Josephson behavior in some weak link devices is proposed. Significant effects of the current-induced breakdown of superconductivity in bridges of a type I superconductor can be satisfactorily explained, In one example of a diffraction pattern of the dc Josephson current, it is shown that this model can be easily generalized to other Josephson devices and that it is a useful tool in understanding effects connected with them.

The Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equations for a two-component high-T c superconductor are derived. The repulsive interactions induce the high-T c superconductivity. The calculated dependence H c2 (p) on the concentration of doped holes p for cuprates has the maximum as a function of p. A positive curvature
