β¦ Synopsis
A numerical analysis of plane-wa¨e scattering from the edge of a penetrable wedge illuminated at normal incidence is presented. The wedge is formed by a perfectly conducting half-plane and a resisti¨e sheet joining at an arbitrary angle. The diffracted field is determined through the application of the parabolic equation method in conjunction ( ) with a finite-difference FD scheme. The solution obtained is ¨alid in the high-frequency region.

An FFT-based formulation for the computation of electromagnetic scattering from 3-D, perfectly conducting objects is presented. The formulation solves the EFIE iteratively via a conjugate gradient scheme and has the major advantage of a low storage requirement for scatterers in the resonance region.
This work is aimed at understanding the amplification and confinement of electromagnetic fields in open subwavelength metallic cavities. We present a theoretical study of the electromagnetic diffraction by a perfectly conducting planar interface, which contains a sub-wavelength rectangular cavity. W
Fundamental antenna effects of a dielectric substrate backed by a perfectly conducting ground plane and excited by elementary dipoles are studied. The effect of the surface wa¨es and the radiation efficiency as a function of substrate thickness and permitti¨ity are analyzed.
