## Abstract We have compared four theoretical effects of rodlike macromolecules with the fast components, i.e., components other than translational diffusion, of our experimental data, which are presented as amplitude autocorrelation functions of electric field scattered from dilute solutions of mo

✦ Synopsis
We check the formalism used to derive stray light corrections from measured aureole intensities and correct an error in the pertinent literature. We solve the alledged problem of appropriately normalizing the spread function by treating blurring and scattering separately. We test the method by comparing stray light corrections derived from both the aureole and from intensity profiles across Mercury's disc obtained during the transit of November 10, 1973.

Two limiting regimes for colloidal particle aggregation are well described in the literature: diffusion-limited cluster aggregation and reaction-limited cluster aggregation. Between these two limiting regimes, a vast transition region is expected. In this paper, the transition region is studied by m
Comparison is made between experimental and theoretical analyses of strata in a cracked copper plate. Correlanon between the two is satisfactory at low and high loading but shows inaccuracies at Intermediate loads. The cause appears to be uncertainty in the stress-strain curve in the region of initi
