โœฆ Synopsis

In this paper we discuss the sample size problem for balanced one-way ANOVA under a posterior Bayesian formulation of the problem. Using the distribution theory of appropriate quadratic forms we derive explicit sample sizes for prespecified posterior precisions. Comparisons with classical sample sizes are made. lnstead of extensive tables, a MATHEMATICA program for san:,ple size calculation is given. The formulations given in this article form a foundational step towards Bayesian calculation of sample size, in general. @ 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.

I n this paper we shall consider the problem of judging how good an actual compromise allocation is compared to Neyman's optimum allocation for the case of stratified random sampling by obtaining a bound to the ratio of the corresponding variances. A solution to a more general version of the problem
