growth of molds and bacteria. The germinated seeds were transferred to a revised tobacco medium (RT medium) containing 1.00 ppm of 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid in 100 ml screw-cap bottles. The tissues were subcultured every four weeks on a fresh R T medium. Samples of tissue cultures of third generation were taken for analysis.
Extraction o f libids
Lipids were obtained from the tissue culture samples by homogenizing with isopropanol and extracting with the same solvent5. The extracted lipids were purified according to established procedures e.
Analysis of glucosinolates
