T he selected papers of this volume are intended to be flashlights illustrating approaches, methods and results of a 12-year interdisciplinary research co-operation of Engineers and Psychologists in Germany. In this re ´sume ´, we take additional results of many projects of our interdisciplinary research into account as well. In the following we want to outline, what was our course of research in the last 12 years, and what were and still are important aspects of this project.
