Fucosyltransferase IV (FUT4) is an essential enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of difucosylated oligosaccharide LeY which is overexpressed in the cancers derived from the epithelial tissues. Our previous studies have shown that FUT4 overexpression promotes A431 cell proliferation through the MAPK

β¦ Synopsis
The antiproliferative property of Rubia cordifolia (Rubiaceae) extract has been studied on two different cell types, A-431 cells (epidermal carcinomoid cells) and 3T3 fibroblast cells. It was observed that a fraction of Rubia cordifolia significantly inhibited the incorporation of [ 3 H]-thymidine, induced by fetal bovine serum, in a dose-dependent manner. It also inhibited the PMA (phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate) induced expression of c-fos genes in A-431 cells. It appears that inhibition of DNA synthesis underlies the mechanism for its antiproliferative properties.

Tea polyphenols are known to inhibit a wide variety of enzymatic activities associated with cell proliferation and tumor progression. The molecular mechanisms of antiproliferation are remained to be elucidated. In this study, we investigated the effects of the major tea polyphenol (-)-epigallocatech
## Abstract Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a common cancer in South China but is rare in other parts of the world. A novel NPCβrelated gene was isolated by location candidate cloning strategy, whose expression was downβregulated in NPC. This gene was designated human NGX6 (Genbank accession AF18
