โœฆ Synopsis

The electronic specu-wn or UO hze been smdicd in the region rrom 16600 zo Xi550 cm-'. A pulsed Irer jet cqwnsion was used to generale low-lemperature (130 K) gas-phax samples of L"9 and UlhO Spectra were recorded by the use of NW-color resonance-enhanced pholoioni~lio~ rollowed b> mass analysis. Three bands have been ro~ammally analysed. providing an eleclronic growid-state rolalional constant oI' 8"s 0 3333i3 cm-' and an O"= 4 .issxgnment Thtiss rcsull~ are shown 10 be m good agreement with the cm-rem rhrorckal models for the etecrronic swucfure of UO_
