✦ Synopsis

A pulse sequence is introduced for eliminating the influence of the rf field inhomogeneity on the nutation NMR powder liieshape in three-level systems. Powder patterns obtained by this method are theoretically analyzed and experimentally demonstrated with 'H-NMR spectra of polycrystalline gypsum CaSO,.O.SHaO. Under strong rf field irradiation, they are found to be very close to the well-known Pake pattern.
