Drive -the first round-the-world drive with fuel cell vehicles -has completed its epic, 30 000 km (19 000 mile) journey. The three participating Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-CELL vehicles crossed the finish line in front of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart right on schedule.

The hydrogen-powered B-Class cars and their support vehicles set off from Stuttgart at the end of January, on the occasion of the official 125th birthday of the automobile, and on their way have passed through 14 countries on four continents [News Focus in FCB, February 2011].

The F-CELL World Drive also provided a platform for Mercedes-Benz to lobby extensively for the establishment of a comprehensive network of hydrogen fueling stations. Currently there are only about 200 fuel stations worldwide at which FCVs can be refueled [FCB, May 2011]. It is estimated that a network of around 1000 fixed stations would be sufficient for basic
