Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells were obtained following Ficoll-Hypaque gradient centrifugation (Cheung et al., 1982a). T lymphocytes were obtained following E-rosette enrichment as described (Cheung et al., 1982a). Greater than 95% of the cells obtained in this way were identified as T lymphocytes.
