## Abstract Embryonic stem cells (ESCs) possess two unique characteristics: self‐renewal and pluripotency. In this study, roles of voltage‐gated potassium channels (K~v~) in maintaining mouse (m) ESC characteristics were investigated. Tetraethylammonium (TEA^+^), a K~v~ blocker, attenuated cell pro
