This paper discusses the robust failure detection methods in general separable Hilbert space using an operator approximation approach. It is simple and provides an intuitive geometric interpretation. The computational procedure required is the Schmit expansion of an operator. An example arising from

✦ Synopsis
paper focuses on the problem of robust and relaible H, control design for linear uncertain systems with time-varying norm-bounded parameter uncertainty in the state matrix and also with actuator failures among a prespecified subset of actuators. Actuator failures are considered as disturbance signals of arbitrary values to the system. A state feedback control design is presented that stabilizes the plant and guarantees an HE-norm bound constraint on attenuation of augmented disturbances, including failure signals, for all admissible uncertainties as well as actuator failures. Hence we extend the existing results on robust H, control of linear uncertain systems to robust and reliable H, controller design. Necessary conditions for the existence of contoller are also derived.

## Abstract This paper deals with the problem of robust __H__~∞~ control for uncertain linear neutral delay systems. The parameter uncertainty under consideration is assumed to be norm‐bounded time‐invariant and appears in all the matrices of the state‐space model. The problem we address is the des
