✦ Synopsis

A possible molecular model for the RNA molecule in the helical narcissus mosaic virus is proposed. The phosphate groups are at a smaller radius than the bases and are separated by a distance of 5.15 A. By suitable adjustment of the model, but without any major change in nucleotide conformation, it can be modified to satisfy the helical parameters of tobacco rattle virus and tobacco mosaic virus.
