Abstract

With the advent of API RP 752 “Management of Hazards Associated with Location of Process Plant Buildings” in the U.S., and new Chemical Industry Guidance in the UK there is a need to re‐examine the vulnerability of control rooms and other occupied buildings on our existing plants. The way one part of ICI Chemicals & Polymers at Teesside, England, has approached this problem at its sites in the northeast of England is described with specific application to ammonia and similar plants.
