✦ Synopsis
virtual access to the palaeontological collections at the NHM make it appealing, its somewhat limited scope and lack of references to original descriptions in the technical literature may be difficult to offset.
Overall, Paleobase seems unfinished. From the opening splash panel indicating that the database was originally intended to include molluscs and early metazoans to the irregularly updated webpage (www.paleobase.com), there is a lack of attention to detail. The future of systematic palaeontology still needs a little spit and polish.
