## Abstract **Ligand design byβpam**: A rutheniumβcatalyzed asymmetric arylation of aldehydes with arylboronic acids has been developed, giving chiral diarylmethanols in good yields. The use of a chiral bidentate phosphoramidite ligand ((__R__,__R__)βMeβbipam) led to excellent enantioselectivities.
