## Abstract Surface acetylation of cellophane to afford an asymmetric membrane having high desalination ability (as high as 98% sodium chloride rejection) is described. The films were characterized by multiple‐internal‐reflectance microscopy (MIR), dyeing tests, light microscopy, and determination
