β¦ Synopsis
In Drosophila melanogaster, activation of prophenoloxidase with 2-propanol was analyzed. Prophenoloxidases A 1 and A 3 were activated within 1 sec after addition of 2-propanol. Activation of prophenoloxidase with 2-propanol is considered to be a reversible conformational change of the prophenoloxidase protein.
