✦ Synopsis

Recent results on tau lepton production in e ± p collisions at HERA are presented. Four different topics are covered: elastic τ + τ -pair production, isolated tau lepton events with missing transverse momentum, and two searches for new phenomena -decays of doubly charged Higgs bosons H ++ → e + τ + and lepton flavour violation ep → τ X. * Author is partially supported by Global COE program, Nanoscience and Quantum Physics, from MEXT, Japan. 1 Here and in the following, the term "electron" denotes generically both electron (e -) and positron (e + ), unless specified.
