β¦ Synopsis
The solar flux density was measured absolutely at the frequency 2980 MHz and the results were compared with those of observers, working in the same frequency range. We have found, that our values are integrating well into a smooth spectral curve, whereas it seems that even the corrected values of Ottawa 2800 MHz are 4 % too high. structional details are given by Schmidt et al. (1969).
Since the available noise temperature is proportional to the direct current (approx 1000K per mA), the measurements can be simplified essentially by use of such a generator in contrast to noise generators using gas discharge tubes.
3. Error Analysis
The observations were carried out with the standard-radio-meter from 1970, May to July, during 7-12 UT.
