✦ Synopsis

Restless Legs Syndrome After a Borrelia-Induced Myelitis

To the Editor:

The restless legs syndrome is characterized by irresistible leg movements, often accompanied by dysesthetic sensations in the leg (1). The pathogenesis of the syndrome remains unknown. It has been suggested that the disease originates in the brain or spinal cord ( 2 4 , but a disturbance at some location in the limbs may also be possible (1). Recent evidence suggests that a central nervous disturbance of dopaminergic mechanisms may be implied in the pathophysiology of the disorder (5).
