β¦ Synopsis
X-ray magnetic scattering experiment has been performed on the antiferromagnetic order in GdAs. The superlattice reflections with /1=2 1=2 1=2S-type propagation vector appear below T N : The energy spectra around the L 3 absorption edge of Gd exhibit asymmetric interference structures. From the analysis of the spectrum, with the knowledge of the magnetic structure, it is estimated that the 5d spins are oppositely polarized to the 4f moment. The critical exponent b ΒΌ 0:3170:06 has been deduced from the temperature dependence of the intensity.

We have investigated the field-induced coexistent phase of antiferroquadrupolar (AFQ) and antiferromagnetic order in TbB 2 C 2 by resonant X-ray scattering. Incident energy dependences of forbidden and superlattice reflections show that the field-induced AFQ order in TbB 2 C 2 is structurally the sa
We study the magnetic resonant X-ray scattering spectra around the Mn K-edge in RbMnF 3 on the basis of an ab initio band-structure calculation with including spin-orbit interaction. A resonant intensity from the dipolar (1s-4p) transition is obtained around the Mn 4p threshold only in the s2p 0 cha
