We examine the doping dependence of the resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) by using numerically exact diagonalization technique on finite size cluster systems. The single-band Hubbard model with long-range hoppings is adopted to describe the Zhang-Rice singlet band (ZRB) and upper Hubbard ba

β¦ Synopsis
We discuss the nature of the resonant enhancement factor which enters the K-edge RIXS cross-section within the framework of a three-band Hubbard model of the cuprates. The enhancement factor is shown to display peaks as a function of the incident photon energy related to the Van Hove singularities (including band edges) in the underlying Cu 4p density of states.
